For the last several years, I have had the honor of collaborating with the NWPA Pride Alliance to design the official t-shirt for Erie's Pride Fest celebration. It's a project that's close to my heart, allowing me to combine my passion for design with my commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
This year's design was inspired by their change of venue to Erie's beautiful bayfront. The sweeping rainbow, featuring all the colors of the Progress Pride flag, represents the vibrant shoreline of Presque Isle Bay, while the silhouette of the Erie skyline adds a touch of local pride.
To bring this design to life, we used a cutting-edge printing technology called Direct-to-Film (DTF) transfers. DTF is known for its vibrant colors and incredibly soft feel. The process involves printing the design onto a special film, which is then transferred to the garment using a heat press.
One of the reasons I love DTF is that it allows for intricate details and a wide range of colors, perfect for capturing the vibrancy of the Progress Pride flag. Plus, the final product is incredibly soft to the touch, thanks in part to a special sealing sheet that adds a layer of smoothness.
The final design was used not only on t-shirts but also on tank tops and hoodies, offering a variety of options for people to show their pride. The design was also incorporated into the NWPA Pride Alliance's social media and website, creating a cohesive and celebratory look for the event.
It's incredibly rewarding to see people wearing the shirts and feeling a sense of belonging and pride. This project is a testament to the power of design to bring people together and celebrate diversity.
If you're looking to bring your own designs to life, I'd love to help! Contact me today to discuss your project and explore the possibilities of DTF printing. Let's create something amazing together!
Along with the new logo, we needed to update the look of the website to make it all fit together. The contrasting gold really pops against the deep purple and black. The event system has been updated to show upcoming events as well as daily events, specials, etc.
